about us...
Camilla grew up with German shepherd and had
trained family dogs both in obedience and human tracking before she
got her first own dog in 1996. Her first dog was
a 1-year-old longhaired German shepherd named Hoss, who have had a
variety of homes during his first year and he had learned an equal
number of bad behaivors. Hoss was converted slowly to a good
obedience and working dog (tracking and protection) dog and he
became a good family dog to. Unfortunately, we had to put him down
too early, when he developed severe epilepsy after all the beatings
he had before Camilla bought him.

Kaiser retrieving.
When the time had come to
get a new dog it had to be a compromise between Camillas desire for
a working dog that never gets tired, and Anders desire for a hunting
dog, like a hunting Labrador retriever. After a lot of searching and
reading we found the all-round races German pointer and weimaraner.
The weimaraner had better looks and if we would have a german
pointer it would have to be a rouh haired (mostly better hunters
than the shor haired in Sweden) and Camilla had a little problem
with the idea of more fur care after the german shepard. So a
weimaraner it was! Patron became our weimaraner and he came to us
in 2001. At first he was only trained in obedience and as a working
dog (both at human tracking and reporting), but after a bird
training all that changed. Camilla became so interested in bird
training and hunting that everything else escaped her mind. Patron
quickly proved to be an excellent bird finder but he had a little
too small search on the field so it only became 2nd prices on field
tests. The water retrieving and the tracking were always to easy and
to retrieve fox and badger was something natural for Patron. Today
we use Patron primarily as a shock dogs on deer and wild boar and as
a retriever on duck hunts and a search dogs at injured games.
Kaiser & Camilla after their 1st prize in youth class on the field.
In order not to train Patron
to much we bought a curly coated retriever 2003 called Tyke. Tyke
was meant to be the retriever that the we needed at all the duck-
and pheasants hunts we participate at. Unfortunately, it was soon
shown that we always needed to but a great pressure on Tyke for him
to retrieve anything else than dummies, which is not possible during
hunting. With dummies was he very good however so we started twice
on working tests. The first test was a national working test and at
that trial he got a 2nd prize in beginners class. The second test
was a international trial here in Sweden where there was starting
dogs from all around the world (USA, New Zealand, France, England,
Denmark, Finland and Garmany for example)var representerade..
Tyke got a 1st prize that day and won the whole trial!
In 2007 Tyke moved to Furulund, due to his
difficulties to get along in the packt, where he now lives with
Camillas father.
In2006 we got our second
weimaraner - Kaiser. Kaiser was acquired primarily for bird hunting
and he really has everything a good bird dog should have. A speed
and range that is very good and a will to work and please that is
huge. He goes from strength to strength and in 2007 he got a 1st
prize in youth class and in 2008 he got a 1st prize in open class.
Kaiser loves water and has a great water passion so it is almost
difficult to get him out of the water sometimes. It is a challenge
to train and lead him but we all need challenges.

In 2008 we got the
opportunity to buy Lille from the Norwegian kennel Garbu. Lille is
about as old as Kaiser, and has a wonderfully exciting pedigree.
Lille have a 1st and 3rd prize at retrieving tests in Norway. She
has started and passed our Swedish water- and tracking retrieving
test in both youth- and open class. And she got a 2nd prize on a
field trial last autumn. Lille has a very good speed and range, and
handles birds great. Her water passion is high and her willingness
to work and please great. We shall see what she can achieve in
future.
In the family Anders is
representing cloven-hunting and Camilla has the greatest interest in
bird hunting. We are both active hunters, Anders in nearly 15 and
Camilla in nearly 4 years. Camilla is the one who train the dogs and
it is also Camilla who start at different kind of tests. Camilla e
member of the Swedish Weimaraner club (SweiK) Board since 2007 and
is Vice-President since April 2008. Camilla is also editor of
SWeiK´s journal WeimaranerNytt since 2006 and a approved test leader
for SWeiK hunting trials. Camilla helps people with their dogs (both
individual and groups) whenever she has time.
